24 Hours in Yosemite

Over winter break, my father and I embarked on a short 3 day trip out to San Francisco to tour colleges. We also decided to make the 5-hour drive to Yosemite National Park for a day. Out of all the parks we visited this year, Yosemite is by far the most beautiful. However, we only had around 24 hours to explore the park so this collection of photos is smaller than my projects usually are. Most of these photos are almost straight out of raw with minimal editing and touchups. Sit back, relax, and enjoy my final project of 2023!
Morning In the Valley:
For sunrise we woke up early to view Half Dome from Mirror Lake, turns out there is no lake in the winter. The shot above is from a scree field hike to get a better view of half dome (it is out of the frame and to the right). Turns out the light doesn't hit half-dome in the morning, bummer. The next shot is from the walk back to Curry Village
Afternoon Hike: Vernal and Nevada Falls

After the morning hike of around 5 miles, we decided to hike to the top of Nevada Falls from Curry Village. The hike was around 8 miles and although the water was not flowing in the volume it does in springtime, the falls still looked miraculous.
Above it the view from the alternate John Muir trail which we took to get down from the falls.
Sunset: El Capitan & Tunnel Viewpoint

Finishing off this brief adventure are these two shots taken from Tunnel View. With only 24 hours to explore the park, we hiked over 17 miles and barely scratched the surface of what Yosemite has to offer.
This shot was seen above but I wanted to include it since it complements the closeup below.
